I have been Principal advisor since 1985 and Chief Curator from 1997 to the Princely House of Lobkowicz in the Czech Republic, one of the great European noble private collections. After the restitution of their properties & collections, I first created at the Castle of Nelahozeves north of Prague, a permanent exhibition covering some twenty five rooms and galleries, entitled “Six Centuries of European Art”. This was opened to the public by President Vaclav Havel in 1997. In 2007 I created another permanent exhibition at their Lobkowicz Palace in Prague, entitled “The Princely Collections”, again filling over twenty rooms and galleries. In the same year I re-created an entirely new permanent installation at Nelahozeves Castle, called “Private Spaces: A Noble Family at Home”. Since 1997 Nelahozeves has been the most visited private castle in the Czech Republic & since the opening of the Lobkowicz Palace in 2007 to the public, it has become one of the most visited & admired destinations in Prague and is the number one site on Trip Advisor for the city.

In addition I have since 1992, advised and overseen as well as conceived new picture hangings on smaller and more modest scales for many houses in the UK, working with interior decorators, painters and grainers , to create historic interiors that are not merely beautiful and elegant but homely, comfortable and where required, cosy.
